Two Halves Make a Whole
By Khoa and Nicol
They are having a shoe fashion show.
I don’t know. Fashiony people--especially shoe people.
Unfortunately people who only have one foot because
this fashion show is by people who were siamese twins
and they were cut in half--
So they have half of everything.
Halfsies.
That’s a lot of names. Want me to go through them all?
From left to right,
Dory, Lorrie, Cory, Morrie, Borrie, Nory, Porey, Zoarie, Foury.
--Nicole asks, “Gory?”
--and Joe.
Joe has very feminine legs
Because he always wanted to be a shoe model.
That’s why he split off on his own.
Nicole asks, “What’s his other half’s name?”
Joey.
They were born from the same womb--or
Did you mean when the halfsies met?
They met each other at the supermarket,
Hopping around the supermarket.
And they do this joke where they ask,
“Do you need a hand?”
Because you know,
They only have one hand.
They love the joke about things
Costing an arm and a leg.
They take life one hop at a time.
They hear applause.
Nicole says, “--so much applause, dollar bills go cha ching
Because they’re selling a lot of shoes.”
No, this is a family fashion show.
They smell cigars because they like to smoke cigars.
The fashion show will end and they’ll all go back to their daily lives
and they’ll be back next week
because this is a weekly fashion show.
What would you like to know?
There is a really complex and deep universe to the halfsies.
