Sneaky Melvin’s Bike Scam
On a cloudy spring day, Melvin decided to go on a bike ride, but unfortunately he got involved in a crash. Robert, an 81 year old farmer, swerved off the road into the shoulder, and struck Melvin as he was pedaling his bicycle. As Melvin was focused on the road in front of him, Robert's dark green Mercedes-Benz plowed into his back bicycle tire. Thankfully, Melvin was stunned and not hurt.
Robert knew that the accident was totally his own fault, so he got out to check on the teddy bear. Robert saw the condition of Melvin's bicycle and decided to verbally assume full responsibility. Robert insisted on helping Melvin and ended up driving him to a near by bike shop.
The shop was able to fix Melvin's bicycle and when Melvin received the news, he excessively cheered and hollered. These such actions continued until he began hopping up and down with appeared excitement, until it caused Robert to walk off into the other side of the store. Melvin took advantage of this opportunity, slipped out of the store with his bike, and fled the scene.
About 5 minutes after Melvin left, Robert began looking for Melvin. Eventually, Robert received word from the shop owner that Melvin snuck out while he was on the phone.
"I didn't tell him I was going to pay for ALL of the repairs! That little sneak!" Robert said to the owner.
The shop owner replied, "You have got to be joking. He is a teddy bear, what di you expect?!"
