Partisans: or Two Happy Women
Oh, lovely! I don’t know what’s happening with this kind of talk. What’s happening now, mate?
They both look terrible. They look rude. They’re having people on. They’re all dressed up to have people on! They are very nicely dressed.
It’s a hot day. They go to have a swim to get fresher. Maria P. knows these women, but she doesn’t understand their names. The lady with the blue dress is called Aspasia, and the one with the red dress is called Persephone. They know each other and they’re used to each other. They’re very nice and they are friends.
Nick asks Maria P. if she would like to be the lady in the blue dress.
They were drunk, but they’re not drunk now! The hand of the woman is reaching out to grab something. The woman is talking to the other woman, and she sees something. The women are looking at me. Persephone is hiding something with her elbow and covering something.
They haven’t drunk today. Margaret says they usually don’t drink, but Val thinks they usually do! Aspasia is very strong—a partisan. This scared Maria B. She wanted to run away. She was reaching out for someone to help her. Mamma mia, Maria was so scared!
You couldn’t hear any noise, just their talking with each other, and plenty of smiles. It could be 2MBS FM*.
They decide to go for a swim. They’ll change their dresses and they’ll feel better. If Nick was there, he would go closer to them to make them happy. “That’s because he has very good manners,” says Maria B.
Val says they’ve always done this before and they’re happy. Maria B. thinks they’re pretty, but Val thinks they’re ugly! “They’re ordinary,” adds Val!
They’re very happy women.
