“Old Friends”
What's that? He's getting his shoe laced up. There’s a possibility there’s a shoe shine going on. (Oh, yes!) This probably happens every day. He's also smoking his pipe. (Yes he is!) The one smoking the pipe is named Charles or Charlie. The other gentleman is named Peter.
(Who is he?) Well, Charles could be the king. He might be against something. Both men seem to have the same attitude: lackadaisical. Could be worse!
Perhaps Charles is Peter’s father. Or maybe they’re just old friends.
They're in a pathway. It looks like a European street. Germany. Or Rome, Italy. The street is a mosaic and the rain is creating an optical illusion. There are a lot of people around and they probably have money that they are trying to do something with. There’s also a gentleman with an Ecclesiastic helmet on and he’s leaning backwards.
There’s the sound of water gurgling along the street. And peoples’ shoes when they walk on the water.
There’s some kind of smell... It smells like Charlie’s pipe. And I would imagine that with a public street like this, you can smell crap in the water.
Charles feels bad because he can’t do what he wants to. He’s thinking “My shoes are killing me!” and “I wish I could be in the Alps right now!” Peter is thinking “Boy, am I glad I didn’t fall in the bay!”
Next, there will be a lot of thinking about what they can do to keep everyone together.
