Mystery Dog: I’ve Had Enough of You
Is it a boy or is it a girl? It’s got to be a boy - he’s Punch-Puddy! He is three years old although not everyone knows that. That’s right though – he is still a puppy. Punch-Puddy looks cheeky-daft. He’s thinking who do you think you are? With a face like this who do you think I am? What shall I do next? “Follow them, find my master”, he’s thinking. Punch-Puddy thinks before he does anything. He is an intelligent looking dog. Yes, he’s very clever. He is an obedient dog – and sometimes defiant!
It happened many years ago – in the early days – there could have been a fire. He is on a beach. He’s playing pinching shoes and tossing them around. He’s on the street. He’s enjoying shooing everybody away. He wanted something to chew at … anything left for him? He might be hungry. He looks as if he got in somewhere. He jumped in and sat down. He’s on the carpet! He’s got both paws on the shoe. He is standing on it and he’s not going to let anyone take it away from him. He wants to take it with him. There’s a left and right. “These are mine,” he thinks. There may be a potato on the carpet. Someone’s thrown it at him. No, it’s a show horn - it’s got wire. Maybe it’s a shoe shop that sells shoes and he’s gone in to buy some. You can see them piled up on the shelf, for sale, or it’s a storeroom or a cupboard. Someone will have got a shock I should think. Although there are a few pairs in order.
They are ladies shoes. Very fashionable. They are up-market shoes although that’s not a very good description. No its not. They are black and cream ones. Punch-Puddy is ripping off the decorations. There’s a stone and something that looks like a wing on the shoe. It’s a bow. There are similar decorations at the back. I wouldn’t mind the shoes at the back!
He may be in trouble next. Yes, he might be put on a lead. He may be scorned. He’ll get the slipper. Or he could be given an old slipper to chew on!
