Memorial Day Parade
It looks like it’s outside. They have been watching a parade, in a small village called Auburn Heights.
It’s the spring, and people came with their children.
We’ll call her Alice; she’s dancing and having a good time.
Alice is from Italy, and she flew to visit some relatives.
The fella on the left (Joe) is wondering when they will eat.
There are musicians, and they are playing Scottish music – but NO bagpipes!
We can hear laughing, and the big bass horn booming!
Next, Alice might have dinner, but there’s a fire engine coming.
The fire engine is in the parade, blowing it’s horn.
Alice is going to cover her ears.
Someone on the engine is throwing out candy, and Joe is going to catch it. It’s licorice.
He’s going to pass it around and then the band will begin to play again.
They’ll play a postlude, and then they will break up the parade.
Now Alice is going to rest. She’s done too much dancing!
But she still has to go eat lunch: a hamburger and fries, and Joe is going to go too, and the Tuba player.
