Leroy´s Accordeon
Leroy is the name of this young boy.
He is sitting on the street as a street musician, playing on his accordeon, hoping to earn some money to provide food for the day.
I can hear a nice song , he is playing, "Oh when the Saint s go marching in", one of his favourite songs.
An old man with a top hat passes by to drop some coins in his red pot standing before him, listening to his music, watching him perform and encouraging him to play more, clapping his old hands with the beat, smiling.
Leroy gets motivated to play more songs, like "Muss i denn zum Städtele hinaus" from the Comedian Harmonists or "What the world needs now" from Jackie de Shannon.
First Leroy felt lonely on the street, but as he continues playing more often, more people gather around him to listen to his wonderful playing, giving him more opportunities , also to play in different locations and on other events.
The old man is visitin him continouasly and often takes him out to lunch. One day he invites him to play in a famous circus in the city. He is the circus director and is looking for a member in the circus band.
Leroy feels, that with all this new opportunities he has the chance to be a well known successful artist and while he is playing more and more often, he is getting the most famous New York- China Town accordeon player in the late 90 ies.
