Make Up a Story
Stories from Around the World
“Jean” or “Story Without A Name”
They are in Washington, DC. Frozen. Undressed. There are eight of them. They are near the river. The photo? It’s taken anytime. Afternoon. In the afternoon, but we don’t know what they’re doing.
They’re standing. No, it’s not raining on them. No, it’s not raining. Looks like it’s raining.
They’re glad it’s raining. They feel wet. Yes, wet. They do know how to say what they are feeling.
No, they don’t know each other. They are in the city, and the people just come. They don’t know each other.
The sounds that they hear are loud. No, they don’t hear anything. There are street sounds. Pitter patter.
It smells like the trees more than anything. Four times. Water. Don’t get the feeling that they are smelling anything.
Anything could happen next. They are not going anywhere. I’m not there so I don’t know. I don’t feel any action there.
