Butterflies or Baseballs in the Sky
First of all, I see a butterfly. It’s a beautiful butterfly. I agree. Butterflies come from caterpillars. The wings look like baseballs. I can see car or truck headlights. It looks like there’s a clock, an old clock. There’s a funny fence and he can’t get in. I’m trying to get out.
Who is that man? I don’t know what the heck the name is. Let’s think about it. He’s alive! He looks like my Uncle Larry. The guy needs to eat more jelly. Let’s call the man Elmer, why not? I think he has a hockey stick. He has a cane and he’s walking on the sidewalk.
He looks like an old guy. He’s a 90-year-old man, maybe younger. He’s not a farmer. He has a “city guy hat.” He’s going to a baseball game. He’s walking for exercise. He’s a kind man and he’s a lot of fun.
His family is behind the wall. Is he a father? Sure, why not? He’s got Dale, Larry…oh, a lot of kids, Bobbsie or Barbara. Those kids are all hiding. Oh boy, he’s into a lot of stuff. His family got together and sent some money.
It looks like a long time ago, maybe about ten years ago. The butterflies might mean summer, or maybe it’s fall. He might be in a foreign country, maybe Czechoslovakia. You never know. I smell antique snows.
He got in an elevator. He never came back again. He’s going to Las Vegas. He’s a Veteran of Foreign Wars.
