Birds and Children
Plenty of goose like me, says Maria! They’re feeding the birds—so many different birds too. There’s a boy and a girl. The girl’s name is Jeannie and the boy is called Johnny. They’re on a beach.
They’re probably not alone. Their parents are somewhere close. There’s a flock of birds. Johnny and Jeannie have followed the birds. It’s a bit cold. The children are wearing coats. Jeannie has a pink coat with white fur and Johnny’s wearing a black and yellow coat.
Nearby is a large cave. Johnny and Jeannie are feeding the birds with seeds. The parents are watching them. There are different sounds. You could hear the lap of the water. Each different bird has a different sound. We would hear quacks. Some of them would sing in their own way. Ducks quack and pigeons make other noises.
Chrissie wouldn’t like to say what smells might be there! But we don’t mind because they’re pretty birds.
The children are mixed ages. They are wearing shoes, trousers. Jeannie is wearing slacks with dots—girls don’t wear trousers, says Stanley! Jeannie is wearing a bow around her neck.
Elsie thinks Johnny is older than Jeannie and that he looks after her. It’s taking place in Japan because the children look Japanese.
The birds are on their own ground. They might play or they might go and feed themselves. They might eat fish and eat all day. Jeannie chases the birds away. Then Jeannie and Johnny will go back to their parents. They might go and play. Chrissie says: “I wish I was that age”. But then she says: “No … I don’t! I like the way I am!”
