A Day at the Beach
It was summertime and it was
a hot, sticky day. Bubbles thought to
herself, “It’s a lovely day. I should go
to the beach to play.” She called Frisky
and they decided to go to the beach.
They decided to have a picnic, so they packed water, chicken legs, and
beer. They also brought a blanket. They were 10 to 12, or maybe 15 to 16 years
old… old enough to know what they were doing but young enough to have a good
time.
“Should we walk or take a
car?” asked Bubbles. Frisky responded, “Can you walk 3 miles in sandals? It’s
obvious by the shoes you are wearing that you should go by car. Walking just
doesn’t make sense.” So, they drove to
the beach.
When they got to the beach
they noticed the umbrellas and the people and the sand. It was a delightful
day.
Bubbles thought if she could
fly in the air, she would be carefree and happy, even though she looked
tired. She was a very pretty lady.
Frisky threw something
towards her and she jumped in the air to catch it. She should have taken off her sandals and
jumped barefoot. It’s hard to jump in
sandals.
What did Frisky throw? A football? That doesn’t make sense—Bubbles
wasn’t buying it—it was summer, not fall.
Fall is when people play football.
It doesn’t really look like a football—it’s some other type of rubber
toy. It’s a round disc! It’s a FRISBEE!
Bubbles jumped to catch it
and said “Look at me!!! I’m flying—like
bubbles fly in the air!! I feel carefree and happy. I feel light on my
feet. I’m very happy! I’m floating! It
feels OK to float.”
When you look at the picture
of Bubbles from one way it looks like she is right handed, but when you turn
the page over, she looks left handed.
They ate their picnic
lunch. By that time they were tired. It
was getting sticky and hot so they decided to get out of the sun and go home
take a shower to get rid of the sand.
It was a delightful day on
the beach. They had wonderful memories
of that day.
