Announcing Some Recent Changes to our Staff

We are a small but mighty team, and are excited to announce some recent changes to our staff.

We are thrilled to announce that Kathy Hawkins has been hired to fill our new role of Engagement Coordinator! Many of you know Kathy as a Certified Trainer who may have certified you, or perhaps you met while she served supported TimeSlips as a contractor for the last many months as our needs continually shifted during the pandemic. Kathy has been affiliated with TimeSlips as a facilitator since 2003 and is a Board-Certified Music Therapist. Her areas of expertise include intergenerational programming, creativity and aging and dementia care. She is a sought-after conference presenter and lecturer who worked at Heather Hill as the staff Music Therapist/Internship Director/Supervisor for 10 years. We are so grateful to have Kathy on staff! She brings a contagious enthusiasm about TimeSlips programming to everyone and is a huge asset to our community.

I’m excited to be joining the TimeSlips team in a staff position after the honor of working with TimeSlips in independent programs for most of my career in the arts and healthcare. I look forward to creating new avenues of partnership and engaging with our diverse community in ways that advocate for anyone walking in the journey with dementia or differences in abilities. – Kathy Hawkins

TimeSlips is growing and we needed help ensuring our infrastructure kept up! We couldn’t have made a better hire for our Operations and Project Manager position than Mary Schuler. Mary has been with the team since October and in these five short months she has us all feeling relieved. Mary has experience in creating operational systems, processes, and policies, including database development and management and data analysis. She was the Operations Manager at the Arts Foundation for Tucson and Southern Arizona, and was an International Product Manager for a biotech firm for five years before moving into the world of nonprofits. Mary has a masters degree in International Management from University of California, San Diego.

I was drawn to TimeSlips for its mission to use storytelling to help connect the elderly with the outside world and the broad and global reach of this mission. With a background in nonprofit operations and international marketing, I wanted to utilize my experience to help in the TimeSlips mission as best as I could. -Mary Schuler
